It’s Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday! <— Do you remember that song? Of course you do. You didn’t live under a rock a few years ago.
Anywayz, I am so happy it is Friday. This week has been a rough one. There have been a lot of ups and downs and I am excited to have a few days to get things done. I wish I could say that I am looking forward to a weekend with no plans, but this is the weekend to get sh*t done. We have so much to do before we get on our one-way ticket to Germany…I can’t even talk about it!
Even though this has been a stressful week, there still have been some great things that I want to share in this week’s Friday Favs.
The Bitch Bible
Jackie Schimmel AKA The Bitch Bible is my new girl crush. She was on Heather Dubrow’s podcast on Tuesday and she is amazing. She is a Housewives super fan, has her own podcast and blog, hates Goop.com/Gwyenth Paltrow and curses like a sailor. We should be friends in real life. She wrote a letter to the concious uncoupling expert about how her website is insane and the her recipe cost her $80 to make some kind of jam or something. Her last podcast she talked about how crazy it is that Miley is engaged to Liam AGAIN and how cray that is. Also, “Who is El Chapo??” was a 10 minute discussion. I have been listening to her podcasts ALL DAY at work since Tuesday and have a hard time not laughing out loud. Basically, if you love snark, Bravo and brutal honesty, you should Google The Bitch Bible. You will not regret it!
Yum. Yum. Yum. I had 2 ripe bananas at home that I needed to eat but didn’t want to make a standard banana pancake or straight up banana bread. I perused the interwebs and found a recipe for banana “cookies” with a 2 ingredient base: ripe bananas and oats. I wanted something sweet, too, that would also not ruin my health kick. I mashed 2 ripe bananas, mixed in 1 cup of rolled oats and chocolate chips. I put them on a cookie sheet in little balls and then in the oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes…and immediately devoured 3! They aren’t true cookies because they don’t hold their form and they crumble immediately. BUT, they are so good!! I made 8 and ate them in 2 days. Oops.
Packing and Organizing
I posted this picture to my Instagram (@jmwhoward) and I am still a little ashamed. We are in the process of packing and organizing our place and putting things into piles: store or take. Hence, all the post-its EVERYWHERE. They say take or ship and they are everywhere! The above bookshelf you see shows all the wine glasses we are STORING! We have so many wine glasses. We received so many for our wedding and I love them all. We have 12 stemless glasses, 12 china water glasses, 12 china wine glasses, 12 champagne glasses, our toast champagne glasses, 4 amazing glasses that a friend made and quite a few glasses from vineyards we’ve visited. It is a little out of control. Again, these are the wine glasses we are storing. And we are taking enough glasses to have a dinner party for 12. I think our first house will need to have a huge kitchen/dining area just to store wine glasses!
Happy Friday! What are your favs from this week?
