Back in the Swing of Things

It’s only Tuesday and I’ve been the gym twice this week. And, it feels great!

I took the entire week off last week from pretty much all exercise except for a few long walks with the pup. While it was glorious to take a break and snuggle on the couch with Hubby, I did notice a difference in my body.

I noticed that my stomach felt a little flabbier, I didn’t have as much energy and my quads didn’t feel as strong.


But, with rest comes a greater urge to push myself. This week, I’m getting back into the swing of things!

Yesterday, I was on the elliptical for 40 minutes and then did a kettle toning work out from Tone it Up. IT WAS HARD! I was sweating 3 minutes into the work out.

Today, I ran on the treadmill for 30 minutes while watching the latest RHOC episode. Side note: Shannon is on my nerves. And then I did an ab work out.

I already feel more like myself, with more energy and more pep in my step.

I plan on stepping up my game with exercise and being better about what food I consume. With summer here and a vacation on the horizon, it’s time for me to put the pedal to the medal.

I’m contemplating putting together a weekly goals list/plan and document on here as a way to keep me on track. I don’t want to take pictures of my food or track what I eat on any app. I just want to be more cognizant about how much I  consume.  For example, this morning I had a bagel (thanks to the sales team at the office), so I’m planning on getting a salad or sushi for lunch. It’s all about balance. It’s time for me to focus on the balance and push myself out of my comfort zone.

I vow to work out harder so I can be stronger and to eat better so I can healthier!
