Dinner at NADA

Hi ya’ll. Happy Tuesday coming off a long weekend. Did you enjoy your Memorial Day? Mine was gloriously spent with family down in Cincy celebrating life.

One of my favorite parts of the weekend was dinner at NADA in downtown Cincinnati. I would consider this an upscale Mexican-style restaurant and it’s one of my parent’s favorites.


We were able to snag a table outside and it was just perfect!

I stupidly forgot to take a picture of our group, but I definitely remembered to snap our meals.

I started our dinner with a sparkling sangria. Holy delicious! It was cava (sparkling Spanish wine), fruit juice and brandy. I definitely need to recreate this at home.


And I love stemless glass for sangria. Something about it just screams summer. Oh, and there were grapes in there. Amazing. I devoured this quickly and ordered a second one before our entrees were served. #oopsie

Guacamole was ordered for the table. It was quite good, but a little too cilantro-y for my taste buds. The chips were outstanding, though. Perfectly salted and crunchy.


That’s jicama in there. A great alternative to chips – who knew?!

For my entree, I ordered shrimp tacos. My parents ordered it, as well. The waitress sold us on the dish saying it was light but satisfying. The avocado dressing description sold it for me.


I hate to say it, but I was disappointed. The shrimp didn’t really taste like anything and the dressing was minimal. The arugula, though. was spot on. I think it’s because that’s where all the dressing was! I asked for a lime and drizzled it over my tacos and that helped add some flavor.

We ended the evening with some churros that sounded better than they tasted. They had too much grease, I think. We still managed to eat all of them, so they weren’t that bad!

All in all, I enjoyed our dinner. The company was great, the atmosphere and cocktails let us kick back and enjoy our night. I would order something different next time. I’m not a fan of feeling like I could make this better myself at a restaurant. I guess that’s the burden of being a decent cook…just kidding!
