Well, hello there. Happy Wednesday. Sorry I’ve been a little MIA recently, but I spent the last 6 days with my best friend, Megan, here in Germany and a day trip to France. And it was fantastic.
As you can tell by the title of this post, I am feeling very content and happy. Nothing can compare to face-to-face conversation, laughter and lounging on the couch while watching Housewives with your best friend. We text every single day, so we know what’s happening in each other’s lives but sitting across from each other while drinking coffee or champagne is the best thing ever. We can be doing nothing, but still have fun! It was just like when we lived together in Milwaukee, which was 4 years ago.
Here we are in our Real Housewife shirts. Aren’t they adorable? Megan brought one for me and we wore those every single night. Megan is getting married this May, so she is joining the official housewife club soon! We talked about her wedding plans a lot, which was so fun. I love wedding planning and her wedding is going to be incredible.
We spent our weekend showing off our new hometown, visiting Strasbourg, going to the Mercedes Museum, shopping and eating way too much Sugarfina gummy bears.
Every year we celebrate our friend-iversary and this year was a big one because we have now been friends for 10 years! We met our first day of college and have pretty much been inseparable ever since. We roomed together sophomore year and lived in the sorority house together for our final two years and lived together as “real people.”
The testament of a true friend is when you haven’t seen each other for a long time or spoken for a while and you just pick up right where you left off. And Megan is definitely that kind of friend. I am so lucky to have her!
The distance, while hard, has made me realize that true friendship should be valued and that they are worth putting in the effort.
What have you been up to recently?
Today is my best friend, Megan’s, 30th birthday. You may remember her…
