Friday Favs {Dec 16}

It has been quite a recovery week to say the least. It’s been nice to sleep in a little bit, but there’s no rest for the weary and we’re jetting off to Amsterdam today for the weekend. We’re probably insane, but when you can get a really good deal on a hotel, why not, right? If you’ve been to Amsterdam, I would love to tips on what to do, see, where to eat, etc.

And since it’s Friday, it’s time to share my Friday Favs for the week.

I was on a podcast

simply everything

Two weeks ago, I shared on Facebook that I was a guest on Blair’s podcast, Simplify Everything. I‘ve listened to her podcast since the beginning. She talks about how to simplify your life with topics like simplifying wedding planning, house cleaning, holiday travel and love languages. She has great tips and I love her enthusiasm. When she put a call out to have guests on her podcast, I thought it would be fun to share my story of how we simplified our move across the world. It was so much fun to talk to Blair over Skype, even though our call dropped about ten times, and I am really happy with how it all sounded. If you have some time, I’m pretty chatty, I’d love if you gave it a listen and tell me your thoughts! You can listen here.

Anne Frank book & museum

The only thing on our agenda in Amsterdam is the Anne Frank house. I’ve wanted to visit since high school after my first attempt at reading her diary. Speaking of which, I am happy to report that I am almost finished with her diary. My plan is to finish it on the plan. Is it weird to be excited to see such a place that means something so horrible? I think I need to see it to believe it. Reading her words is one thing, that is terrifying, but I think seeing it and walking through the bookcase is going to be a life changing experience. I will dedicate a post entirely to the visit to the museum.

This reindeer

How cute is this reindeer? This was at Copley’s groomer and I want to have one for my house. It’s huge and I love the pink ribbon. I’d probably do a red ribbon to make it more holiday-y but I just love it.

I think that’ll do it for this week’s favs, unless sleep counts as a fav. I’ll see you all on Tuesday after we’re back from our Amsterdam trip.

What are your weekend plans?
