Friday Favs {Jan 1}

Well, hello there 2016! I’m not one to set too many resolutions, but I think I’m going to set some goals for 2016. I’m no entirely sure what they are yet, but I’ll definitely share once I know.

Should I go with this:

Kidding, of course! 🙂

I do love the start of a new year. You’re filled with the “get shit done” mentality. I hope to ride that idea for as long as possible. To start 2016 off right, let’s do the very first Friday Favs of the new year!

Making a Murderer

Like most people on my Facebook feed, we binged Making a Murderer over the holiday break. This 10-hour, Netflix original documentary focuses on a Wisconsin crime case surrounding Steven Avery. Filmed over 10 years, the documentary tells the story of how Avery was exonerated of a rape charge after DNA evidence proved that he didn’t do it. Avery was in jail for 18 years for this “crime.” 2 years after he is set free, Avery is arrested again, but this time, for murder. He claims his innocence throughout the series and to this day. The episodes weave a horrifying portrayal of the justice system, the police department and humanity in general. This is a fascinating series and definitely worth the binge!! Although, I am left feeling that I never want to visit Manitowoc, Wisconsin and hope to Jesus that I’m never accused of a crime.

The Young House Love books

I was gifted the 2 Young House Love books for Christmas. With our new move and new living space, I really want to make our German apartment a place that we love. These books are great! There’s some terrific ideas that I hope to incorporate and the wit that these two have is certainly unmatched and quite entertaining.

The New got a facelift a few days ago. I love these girls and love their workouts! I actually have done only their workouts this week and am really excited for the January challenge that I plan to follow. I love the new site!! It’s much more user-friendly and there’s a lot more you can do with your account, like track your workouts! I am definitely bookmarking this for 2016!

Luckiest Girl Alive

I vowed to read more in 2015 and I did a pretty good job at always reading a book. I started reading Luckiest Girl Alive over the break and I am hooked! It’s a super easy and fast read, but has enough plot that it keeps my interest. And Reese Witherspoon purchased the movie rights for her production company, so this book will be a movie soon. Woohoo!

A great 2015

Finally, my fav this week is this past year. 2015 was a great year for sure! I trained and finished a marathon, spent time with family and announced that we will be moving to Germany! This year will be hard to beat, but the best is yet to come!!! I hope 2016 brings everyone joy, love and happiness!

What are your favs from this week? What are you looking forward to in 2016?
