Friday Favs {July 1}

Happy Friday! I can’t believe it is July. When did this happen? This week has been productive, great for my mind and my soul. It’s amazing how a change in attitude, great exercise and quality time with my husband can make for a great week and a great life.

I’m really looking forward to this weekend, too. We have zero plans on the agenda for tonight besides lounging around, eating Mexican food and sitting on our balcony. Tomorrow we hope to play some tennis and watch the Eurocup. I’m also planning some yummy recipes for us to enjoy on 4th of July. It’s our first away from the States and we want to make it special. It’s going to be a great weekend!

As per usual, here are my Friday Favs for this week.

Google Calendar App

I have slight OCD and I can’t believe I just found the Google Calendar App. I was having a moment where I couldn’t figure out my schedule and felt overwhelmed with juggling teaching, writing and dealing with coming back from the States for the first time.

And then I put everything into my Google Calendar online and downloaded the app. OBSESSED! You can color code based on like items, too. I have different colors for appointments, teaching classes and spending. I’ve been using the calendar to track my spending. I love that the app adds some cute pictures based on what my appointment is. For my tennis lesson, it puts a cute racket and for the gym, a barbel. I have been using it daily…neh, hourly, every day this week.

Finishing The Nest

I finished reading The Nest last night. I have to say I was disappointed in the ending. There was so much build up throughout the book and the end just flopped. It’s almost like the author thought the book was getting to long, so she stopped writing. That being said, the end did tie all the loose ends and left the reader content with the characters.

Would I recommend the book to a friend? Yes. It’s a great read for the beach or just lounging in your adirondack chair.

YouTube Videos

Confession: I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos lately. I mostly watch at the gym because thy have YouTube right in the tv’s, which is great, especially because I don’t understand the shows on the actual tv yet.

I love watching episodes of Live with Kelly! and Wendy Williams, but have recently gotten into family/daily vloggers. Some of my favs are: Alex Garza, anything on the Vogue channel and honestly, really old Jon and Kate Plus 8 episodes. <— don’t judge me!

What are you looking forward to this weekend?

    I’m looking forward to a BBQ with friends and later to watch fireworks right here in Doe Valley. Sunday we meet with my sibs for a patriotic concert at Less’ church followed by a picnic under the new pergola at their house. Some down time from work preparing the other house (which our now previous pastor rented) for sale is in order. Hope to get it on the market before we leave on our trip. Their eldest may find his belongings in the street if he didn’t get there yesterday to pick it up! Happy 4th of July!
