Friday Favs {March 3}

Happy Friday to you, and you and you and you. I must say that this is indeed a happy Friday for me because it is the first day in the past week that I haven’t felt completely sick. It’s been a rough week here full of coughing, sneezing, laying on the couch, sleeping until noon and drinking lots of tea. You know, except for the sick part, it sounds kind of nice.

Since I literally only left the apartment this week to take the dog for a very short walk, my Friday Favs for this week are quite small. And I don’t think the fact that we have a chaise lounge counts as a favorite, although maybe it should. This weekend the only thing on the agenda is getting my haircut! It is going to be super relaxing and perfect.

I could have Copley as a fav every single Friday. But this week especially she is a favorite. She has not left my side, snuggled with me on the couch, let me sleep as long as I want and just been the perfect pooch. I miss her when we travel and there’s nothing like being home with her.

The picture above was taken on our walk on Monday when it was in the high 50’s. Look at that cute tongue!

This is the look of, “Oh, sorry, were you sitting here?” I got up for one second and this little bugger stole my spot on the couch. Seriously, though, I don’t think I could love this dog more.

Writing down my food

For the past month and a half, I’ve written down everything I’ve eaten in a Google Doc and share it with my best friend. Her wedding is in May and we are both working really hard to look our best. Admittedly, I have further to go then she does, but it is so nice to feel like I have a partner in this and I get ideas from what she eats and vice versa. Some days are better than others, but it’s incredible to see what I eat on the days when I feel my best. I feel my best when I eat lots of fruit in the morning, have some kind of green smoothie and stop eating carbs after 3 PM. But sometimes, you know, pizza just wins. It’s all about balance, right?

Buying baby gifts

No no, not for myself. But several of my best friends have either recently had a baby or are pregnant. It has been really, really fun to go on their registries and looking at all the little baby clothes and toys. It is really hard to be away and not being able to go to baby showers or meeting the baby in the hospital, but it feels so great to be able to go online and send a gift so my friends know I’m thinking of them and super excited for them as they embark on their next phase of life.

I’ve seen these Freshly Picked moccasins everywhere on Instagram and other blogs, so these have become a go-to gift for everyone.

The Oscars

I love the Oscars. I love the fashion, I love the opening monologue and I love the after awards interviews with the press. Believe it or not, the news of the Oscars flub made it all the way to Germany. My German teacher even brought me an article in the local paper all about it. I watched the La La Land or Moonlight moment thanks to YouTube and it was severely uncomfortable. But, I think the producer handled it extremely well and took everything in stride. I love how the internet can keep me informed and is a testament to how small the world actually is.

I think that will do it for this week. I’m going to go back to laying on the couch with my water glass and bendy straw and watch more Gilmore Girls.

What are your favs this week? What are you up to this weekend?
