First of all, how is it already late May? That is insane! Time sure does fly, especially when you’re having fun…or getting acclimated to living on a new continent.
Copley’s First German Haircut
Copley was in a DESPERATE need of a professional haircut. Her hair was all matted, she was uneven, it was all around not great. Poor baby. I struggled to find a groomer but finally found one in Stuttgart. They made me feel really comfortable and I saw a picture of Cesar Milan signed that thanked this groomer for grooming his dog. I mean, talk about a seal of approval!
I am so happy with how she turned out. Her face is still so cute, but she is definitely shaved. It’s her summer cut. We got a professional brush and a detangle spray, so she won’t have to go through this again!
Real Housewives of New York
Did you watch this past week’s episode? Oh man! Bethenny v. Sonja or Skinnygirl v. Tipsy Girl. My oh my. So much happened in this week’s episode. There was a make-up between Dorinda and Ramona, a SHOWDOWN between Bethenny and Sonja and a glimpse into the types of “men” Luann dates.
Sonja is coming out with a line of prosecco called, “Tipsy Girl.” Bethenny owns a line of cocktails…and chocolates….and protein shakes….and hummus called “Skinnygirl.” A little too close for comfort in the name. And there is a Skinnygirl prosecco. Bethenny takes severe personal offense to Sonja’s “business venture” and doesn’t want anything to do with her. I get where Bethenny is coming from. Bethenny brought Sonja to her brand summit last year and gave her plenty of advice on business. And then Sonja does this to her?! No bueno.
And then Dorinda and her boyfriend, John, hold a party and Luann’s ex-boyfriend causes quite a scene. He is clearly drunk and clearly gay. But apparently he and Luann went on a trip to Ibiza last summer. Dear Luann, you are an attractive, smart, funny girl. You should be with someone who doesn’t cause fights with random men and women!
This episode is the epitome of why I watch the housewives. There was enough drama, fun one-liners and good girlfriend times that create a great episode! I can’t wait for the rest of the season.
Uno there tv news, I just started watching Nashville. It’s on Netflix and when I needed a break from housewives, I turned this on. A show that’s funny, dramatic AND there’s country music?! How have I not watched this show? I only watched two episodes, but I think I may have a new addiction for the show’s few seasons.
Deutsch News on YouTube
Learning German is certainly not easy. I am trying to spend some time every single day with my German homework, listening to German podcasts and watching German news. Since we don’t have cable, I am so happy that I found a live feed on YouTube from Euro News in Deutsch. I only catch about every 20th word or so, but the more I listen, the more I learn. Giuliana Rancic said in her book that she learned English from watching the news and that’s why she wanted to become a journalist. Here’s hoping I can improve my German…and my knowledge of the current events!
College Application Essays
I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since I graduated from high school. 10 years! Craziness. And that makes it 11 years since I wrote my college application essays. I only applied to three schools, so I didn’t have to write too many, and I don’t even remember what I wrote. This year, the New York Times posted some of the top essays from college applicants. I really enjoyed reading these and it gives me hope for our future.
What a great week. It appears that I’ve been watching too much tv. Well, the weather is getting better, so I’ll hopefully be spending more time outside! Here’s to a great weekend!
