Half Marathon "Training"

This Saturday, I’m running in my fifth half marathon. I can’t believe it’s my 5th one! Wow. I never thought I’d ever even run a 5k.

I’m not exactly prepared for this half marathon as I have in the past. Like not even a little bit. And I’m honestly really freaked. At this point it’s pretty much muscle memory, but running 13.1 miles is never an easy feat for me.

The longest I ran was 9 miles and it wasn’t super pretty. It was after work on the Friday night before I left to go to Chicago Gourmet. It wasn’t my fastest run ever, but at least I did it. But..then I went on an 11 day business trip and didn’t run for more than 30 minutes.

When I got back on Sunday, I ran 6 miles and it wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t great. This week I worked out Monday and went to Orangetheory on Tuesday, but that’s it.

I have no expectations for this race AT ALL. Basically, I just want to finish with my sister. I want to cross that finish line without keeling over dead. I think that’s a good goal, right?

Any advice on running a half marathon without much training?
