Today I was thinking about things that I wish I knew how to do. I’ve always enjoyed learning and growing, but sometimes other things get in the way. But what gets in the way doesn’t even compare to the joy I know I would feel if I actually sat down and learned how to do new things.
So, I’m proclaiming to start to learn how to do some of these things that I’ve always want to do! In no particular order…
I have always loved the way calligraphy looks. I love handwriting in general. I wish I could write beautiful calligraphy for letters, envelopes or even word prints for our house. There are a ton of tutorials on YouTube and I just need to take the time to watch them and practice.
Expressing myself with words has always been a strong suit. I love finding that perfect ford that reflects a way I am feeling. I am jealous of the people who can do the same thing but with photos. I mean, a picture is worth a thousand words, right? I took a photography class in high school but I never stuck with it. I am thinking of getting a nice camera for Christmas so I can start expressing myself through photos. And by nice camera, I mean any camera because right now I only use my iPhone!
I’ve written about wanting to learn Italian A LOT and it’s one of those things that I just need to sit down and do. There are no excuses. Just do it!!
I love putting a house together. I love finding pieces that represent my style, remind me of special times and creating a loving home. I don’t really follow anything other than my instincts, and I would love to know how the true industry-standards of interior design. Like Jeff Lewis!
Similar to interior design, I would love to know how to properly arrange flowers. I just pick up an already done bouquet at the grocery store or just go with straight hydrangeas. The flower meeting while we were planning our wedding was pretty brutal since neither of us knew the names of any flowers. All I knew was that I wanted our flowers to look like balls!! Are there courses you can take to learn this I probably wouldn’t take a class for this, but I would like to start exploring flower markets or something.
With 2015 coming to a close soon, I may just be adding some of these to my list of resolutions for 2016. Most specifically, learning Italian. That’s my #1 for 2016!
