Today, I booked a weekend trip for next weekend to Munich. It was a spur of the moment decision, which is very unlike me. I’m usually a super researcher, planner and have to cross-reference everything I find online with reviews on any and all websites.
Since moving to Germany, I have lived by this motto:
And I’ve used this motto for things other than shoes. Life is short, buy the wine. Life is short, have another glass. Life is short, buy the plane tickets. And today’s, Life is short, book the hotel.
We are only in Germany for 3 years. As long as that time frame can feel sometimes, I know it is going to go by in a flash. Now’s the time to visit everything and anything. Now’s the time to build memories that will last a lifetime and to check things off our bucket list. If we have a free weekend, I want to go somewhere. And next weekend is free and it’s the week before Oktoberfest when the price of hotels skyrockets and people will be everywhere.
I went to Munich for a day on a business trip last year, but I was with my boss and we didn’t really see Munich. I’m really excited to visit some great parks, castles and eat some delicious food. Next Friday, we’re just going to hop in the car with Copley, drive 2 hours and be in Munich. I am on a high of spontaneity. And now my planner mode is on and researching restaurants and things to do. Don’t worry, I’ll post a recap.
I’ll leave you with this: Life is short, do what you want to do.
When was the last time you went on vacation spontaneously? Have you been to Munich? Any must-do’s?
Happy Monday, my friends. And happy 500th post from me! It’s hard…
One of the things I didn’t think about before moving to Germany…
