National Running Day

Happy National Running Day, everyone!

I’ve actually never heard of this holiday and I’m psyched that I am able to celebrate this year.

And celebrate, I did.

I ran a 5K after work today and it ROCKED!

I’m only 59 seconds away from breaking my goal of a 5K under 30 minutes!

I hit the pavement after work today and cranked it out. I ran my little heart out. I managed to do a 5K in 30 minutes and 58 seconds. That’s a 10-minute mile. Holy cow! I never thought I’d see the day again. I feel so strong now and that I can tackle anything. I’m so close to my goal, I can taste it. I’m hoping that by next week, I’ll hit my goal! I’ve pretty much knocked a minute off my 5K since I started, so I think I can do it!

In honor of National Running Day, I also thought I’d share why I run.

I run because…

…it makes me feel strong.

…I push myself out of my comfort zone.

…it’s a great calorie burner.

…it relieves stress.

…I love the running clothes. (don’t judge me)

…I never thought I could.
