New “Normal”

We are officially out of our apartment. Everything is in storage or on it’s way to Germany! Wow, I can’t even believe it. It’s hard to actually imagine what it’s going to be like to unpack everything in another country, but I’m excited for the new adventure.

We are currently staying in an extended stay hotel and it is…different. Here’s what our new normal looks like.

living in a hotel

Living out of suitcases, clothes and shoes everywhere and a tv with cable! We’re used to not having cable, but I was excited to watch some of my favorite shows real time. But, alas, there’s no Bravo! Tears were shed.

It’s really hard to have one room for 2 people and one dog. I tripped over a suitcase this morning and almost broke my toe. #hyperbole I hate clutter, so having not in it’s correct place is really hard for me.

And, did I mention that we are facing the highway? And there’s always cars?! And it’s awful? Oh yes, all true! A semi-saving grace is that breakfast is included. It’s a standard continental breakfast, but still breakfast.

It’s going to be rough to be in this room until next Friday, but we’ll get through it! I’m really looking forward to the end of all this mayhem, but I know it’s on the other side of the pond, too. We’ll be in a hotel until we can find a place. That thought is really unsettling for my Type-A personality. I’ve had a few breakdowns, but it’s definitely a more of a positive experience.

Now, it’s time for bed. I’m exhausted and can’t keep my eyes open!

Thanks, Michelle! It’ll be worth it in the end, but getting there sucks, as you know all too well!
