Streaming Shows Addiction

I know I’m not the only one who is obsessed with Netflix, right? I love having some sort of noise in the background, especially from shows or movies I’ve already seen. That way, I can still get other things done around the house, like write, online shop, do laundry, play with Copley or cook dinner. I just really like to have noise in the house.

We don’t have cable, so I only watch Hulu and Netflix and the occasional iTunes download of current Housewives seasons. I love watch Bravo series on Hulu, 30 Rock and Friends on Netflix, and am constantly searching for new tv shows to watch. My last obsession is Girlfriends Guide to Divorce.

And this past weekend, I found a new show: Jane the Virgin.

The star won an Emmy for her role and I figured I’d give it a shot.

The premise of the show is pretty ridiculous. Jane is a virgin, obi. She goes to her lady doctor for her annual appointment and is accidentally inseminated with someone else’s sperm. Queue the telenovela music.

The show is pretty much exactly a telenovela. There’s Spanish, it’s set in South Beach and the story lines are all intertwined. The narrator has a great Spanish-American accent and is hilarious.

It took a few episodes to actually get into the show, but it turned out quite good! It’s pretty mindless to watch but keeps your attention. And I think I can watch the latest episodes on Hulu.

I don’t know if I’ll keep up with it, but I am intrigued to find out what happens.

What are you currently watching? Any recommendations for Netflix binge-watching?
