Weekend Wrap-Up {February 1}

The commercials are definitely the only reason I’m still watching the Super Bowl. I’m not a huge fan of football, but this game is definitely worth it.

Let’s get to the usual Sunday post, Weekend Wrap-Up. This weekend was a busy one and I’m 100% looking forward to going to sleep tonight. The snow is out of the control and I’m hoping for an adult snow day #dreaming.

It was quite a Friday at the office. Friday is the busiest day of the week in my day job and it sucks. The day goes quickly, but I usually leave with a bigger to-do list for the weekend.

But the day ended in a great way! To celebrate a friend’s birthday, a bunch of us went fowling. Fowling is football + bowling + corn hole. There are boards that hold 10 bowling pins. You throw a football to the pins and try to knock them down. There were a ton of rules, but it was a ton of fun!

The games are played in a huge warehouse that was pretty darn cold, but there was a bar, so an alcoholic blanket was easy to get.

Hubby and I were on a team and I tried really hard not to let my competitive side come out…yeah, that didn’t happen. We were super competitive and I got super frustrated when I didn’t hit a pin.

All in all, it was a great way to celebrate a friend’s birthday and I would definitely go back.

A low key day spent lounging on the couch until it was time to run. Separate training post coming soon. Spoiler: we ran 10 miles at a faster pace than our last 10 miles!

We went out to celebrate another friend’s birthday…but I didn’t take any pictures because I’m lame…

It’s been snowing all day today. I haven’t left the apartment. It’s still snowing.

Being snowed-in was the perfect time to work on my Italian skills!

The weather changed our Super Bowl plans from going to a friend’s to staying at home. It turned into an Ohio Super Bowl. I made Skyline Chili 3-way (Cincinnati chili, spaghetti and cheddar cheese) and buckeyes. I follow my grandma’s recipe for buckeyes and they are 100% delicious and 100% bad for you!!

And now we’re snugging on the couch and watching the rest of the game. Holy goodness was Katy Perry great. Although, Copley was not impressed.

For commercials, I’m noticing a theme in public service announcements, being a dad and changing the world! I’m going to do a post tomorrow all about my favorite Super Bowl moments. #advertisingmajor

How was your weekend? What’d you think of the Super Bowl? Favorite commercials?
